Disposal

March 10, 2008

Sydney needs more bins. I walked around the vicinity of my hotel all day today and it took me at least an hour to dispose the empty bottle. Even then the bin was overflowing with trash and feasting pigeons that I swear are darker and more brutal than those in Perth. The place is littered with people in all directions and it is an interesting game to play ’spot the Australian’ in the area I covered today. I met Sue (a Korean I have had contact with through facebook) who is doing the same Bachelor in Fashion Design as me and possibly sharing a two bedroom apartment. We introduced ourselves outside Whitehouse and had a small look into the building – 3 stories in a small art deco building (very suitable for me). I have but a week to find ourselves or myself somewhere to live and it is becoming a lot of pressure. Although I have organized about 5 or so viewings, the demand here for property is so great that it is against 20 or so other people. Though when I finally find a little somewhere to call home, I can’t wait to make it mine. Once life works itself out, I have a lot to look foreword to. I just hope my house has a bin…

X-Wray

March 3, 2008

This cafe’ has satisfied my post-drinking trauma many late mornings. In this token Fremantle relaxed and cultured atmosphere – you can enjoy all kinds of meals including vegetarian/organic and tapas. The interior hosts all kinds of decorations and artworks to gaze upon while you devour your dinner. However, I most enjoy sitting in the leafy alfresco area enjoying the sunshine, abusing the free wireless internet and the service of some very cheerful staff. You can visit X-Wray on 3/13 Essex St. Fremantle for breakfast lunch and dinner till 11pm. The food is affordable with Entrée at $8, Mains from $8 – $16.50 and Dessert $4 – $9

The First The Best

March 2, 2008

‘Discussing with a friend whether the first or second thoughts are the best, we came to the conclusion that first thoughts are our best because they are generally generous impulses. It is after we weigh matters over, as a rule, that we decide it would be foolish to do certain things for other people because we can’t afford it, or it would be against our own interests. Usually our first impulses are to lend a helping hand to our friends and neighbours, even if we do have to go to the wall ourselves.’
