To be an artist is to be a moral leper, an economic misfit, a social liability.

A corn-fed hog enjoys a better life than a creative writer, painter or musician.

To be a rabbit is better still.

I think I need to be more charismatic around everyone.

I am someone and I am someone important and if you don’t know me – shame on you.

If I want big-time I need to act like I am big-time before I even am.

Meanwhile I slog my guts out to make everything work.

You know there is something that you really want and you don’t know what to do. You don’t know, but your scared because as soon as you step into it, as soon as you give up the anxiety that is whether you should or you shouldn’tyou can’t not. You can’t not because you have already stepped into that realm of possible failure. Then it is no longer about finding happiness or being wherever is comfortable. You can’t have comfort because it’s no longer about that, it’s about finding your story. The search for a      really    good    story

The First The Best

‘Discussing with a friend whether the first or second thoughts are the best, we came to the conclusion that first thoughts are our best because they are generally generous impulses. It is after we weigh matters over, as a rule, that we decide it would be foolish to do certain things for other people because we can’t afford it, or it would be against our own interests. Usually our first impulses are to lend a helping hand to our friends and neighbours, even if we do have to go to the wall ourselves.’
